Yesterday, Catherine hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace for children whose parent’s have died in the line of duty, working in the armed forces. She chose a repeat of her cream crochet Chloe dress.
The dress was first worn to the garden party for children in Canada, meaning I was surprised to see it; generally, similar outfits and colours are avoided for similar events to help show a new ‘appearance’ for the Royal.
It features a knit ‘pointelle’ top, with ruffle cuffs and a loose collar; modesty is preserved with a slip, and it buttons up at the back. The flare skirt has a diagonal weave to it, which the Duchess accentuated with a wide belt from Acne Studios.
I quite like this piece, but thought it looked a lot better first time around – it seemed a little flat to me.
On her feet, Kate chose her Monsoon ‘Fleur’ wedges in taupe, the way she teamed the dress last time. These are no longer available, but Monsoon did update them into a navy and a canvas colour.
In the jewellery department, Catherine chose her Annoushka pearl drops on her Kiki McDonough gold hoops.
