Roland Mouret skirt & blouse combo for Countess of Wessex on evening of Day 1 in Ireland

Sophie, The Countess of Wessex attended the 100 Women Fund in Finance NextGen Dublin Reception on her recent visit to Ireland. Sophie chose an embroidered pencil skirt for the occasion.

The Countess wore Emma Willis (made in England) Black Satin Shirt. It appears to be the £290 ‘Jermyn Street’ style, though the button placket sits the opposite way. This is no ordinary black satin shirt, it is amazing! A complete bespoke shirt that can be designed by the wearer online with almost no detail left out. The wearer can choose to customise their shirt through the cuff button style, pockets, cuff style, front of shirt style, sleeve length and material. Sophie’s shirt is made from black silk chiffon. You can purchase and customise your own Emma Willis shirt here. Try this affordable replicate here.

The Countess debuted a new skirt from Roland MouretThe ‘Norley’ fitted jacquard skirt was worn, which costs £850. The midi-length pencil skirt is richly embroidered with red, blue and black jacquard. The rear of the skirt features a plain black contrast panel, long exposed gold zip closure and split hem. This skirt is made from a blend of silk/cotton/polyester/acetate/polyamide. You can purchase this skirt here.

Sophie carried her Lulu Guinness ‘Poppy’ black satin embroidered clutch. A seemingly plain black satin zip top pouch is transformed with intricate applique of a poppy design. The poppy’s green stems and leaves are embroidered into the fabric of the clutch, while red felt is cut into the petals of the poppies and carefully applied to the outside of the bag, with intricate delicate black beading detailing making up the centre of the poppy.

Quite a fun and unique clutch design from Lulu Guinness. The Countess has owned this clutch for numerous years but has used it on very limited occasions (often around November and Remembrance occasions, unsurprisingly) so you may be unfamiliar with it. This clutch comes from many seasons past and is no longer available, though you can still view it here.

It was an older shoe choice for The Countess of Wessex on this occasion; Sophie wore LK Bennett ‘Harley’ black suede pumps, originally retailing for £265, they are now discounted to £185. The rounded toe and hidden platform is quite a different style of shoe for Sophie. We have not seen the Countess wear LK Bennett for quite a while, with her favoured shoe brands being Prada, Jimmy Choo and Gianvito Rossi. Very limited sizing in this heel is still available here on the US site. Try these for a great replicate here and here, or you can try LKB’s updated ‘Sledge’ heel, which is a similar style here.

Sophie accessorised with her Heavenly Necklaces ‘Citrine’ Gold Teardrops Earring. A delicate pair of lemon yellow citrine tear drop shaped gems set in gold with a gold hook. These earrings are no longer available. Try a great replicate here.

A beautiful and different style from the Countess for this engagement. We love how the satin of the shirt matches the satin of the bag and the fun design of the bag is set off the against the interesting detail and rich fabric of the jacquard skirt. All pieces of her outfit match perfectly and pull this outfit together to a sleek ensemble.

On a side note, there is a lady in attendance and in one of the photos with the Countess who appears to be wearing a strikingly similar ensemble. Sometimes women can get awkward when they are at the same place wearing the same thing. Would you feel amazingly chic that you have an outfit that is similar to the Countess? Talk about replicating! Who knew you could replicate before an event?!
