The Duchess of Cambridge visited the National History Museum today, wearing a very unusual yet striking combination of colours. Catherine wore a burgundy and olive ensemble for a very memorable look. Head to our sister site here for a rundown of the event.

The Duchess wore a Warehouse ‘Wave Pointelle Detail Jumper’, in berry colour-way, retailing for a very reasonable £39. The finely knit jumper features a high scallop edge funnel neckline, with a lace-effect diamond textured design over the yoke and ribbed trims around the neckline and sleeve cuffs. The jumper is crafted from a viscose/polyester blend. Kate’s jumper sold out almost instantly, though you can still view it here. Try this to get Kate’s look here.

Kate added a new pair of wide legged cropped pants from Jigsaw. The Duchess chose the ‘Relaxed Culottes’, in khaki, retailing for £50. These are made from a lightweight polyester, the relaxed wide-leg features a centre seam down each side, wide elasticated waist band that is shirred and gathered through the back and front slant pockets.

Catherine seems to have a real love of mixing in trousers to her outfits over the past few months. These pants appear quite wide on the model, and Kate’s do not seem to have as much of a flare to them – perhaps she had them taken in slightly? You can purchase Kate’s trousers here.
Remember if you purchase these pants and want a cropped look, make sure you take them to a tailor and get the trousers hemmed to the right length for your height.
The Duchess carried her Chanel bag that we first saw in Paris in 2017. The deep rich burgundy leather bag features Chanel’s signature quilted design and interlocking ‘Cs’. This piece is unusual for the intricate pattern through the enamel top handle.

Kate wore her Todd’s fringed loafer pumps. The burgundy leather block heel pumps have accents of red and burgundy leather fringing and gold buckles across the toe. We would love to have seen a khaki leather pump with this look, as they would ground the trousers and balance out the dark toned jumper and paler olive pants. This would also break up the colour of matching accessories and jumper. A little too much burgundy, but the Duchess pulls it off. Try these updated Tod’s loafer pumps, here.

The Duchess of Cambridge accessorised with her Asprey London ‘Oak Leaf Small Hoop Earrings’. The delicate earrings are made from 18ct yellow gold and inlaid with pave diamonds in a twisting oak leaf hoop pattern. The price of these earrings is available on request and you can purchase them here.

We think the Duchess was truly stunning in this look and feel this is one of her most risk-taking outfits to dates. We would suggest probably trying on this colour combination yourself before committing to the purchase, as the deep jewel tone of the burgundy and the washed out olive are definitely not a workable colour palette for everyone.
