Today saw The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sail against one another in the King’s Cup regatta, as their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte looked on. Kate started the day off in nautical casuals, switching the more athletic gear for the race itself.

The Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the event in a new stripey top from Sandro. The cropped t-shirt is created from a stretch cotton, with bands of orange, navy, white and yellow. The sleeves are pleated and flared at the end, mimicked by the peplum at the hem. It was £135, but is on sale down to £81 here and here.
She paired the top with bell bottom navy trousers from LK Bennett, first seen at the announcement of this race in June. These are the ‘Parker’ trouser, which take inspiration from the 1970s, with a high-waist, four white buttons across front, wide legs with front and back pleats, and an ankle length hem. They cost £150, and are have sold out, but the store stocks these which are very similar. Or these are more budget friendly.
We’re not entirely sure the trousers worked with this look, owing to their length and flare, as well as the buttons, which distract from the hem of the top.
Kate chose her Superga ‘Cotu’ trainers in white canvas. These are a casual favourite, and still available for £50 here (limited sizes), here.
The Duchess chose her Kiki McDonough ‘Lauren’ pave leaf earrings for the event. The 18kt gold and diamond earrings are still available here and here for £2298.
The Duchess then switched into more appropriate clothes for the race, donning black navy shorts, a white polo shirt and a white jacket, the latter of which bear the emblems of the King’s Cup regatta.
Catherine debuted a new pair of New Balance trainers, the ‘611v1 Cross Trainer’, in the mint and grey colourway. They are available on Amazon at above-RRP here.
A quick note on Prince William’s shoes, for those interested. For the race, the Duke wore Gill ‘Mawgan’ trainers, which cost £80, and are available here, or on sale here.
We are still tracking down his boat shoes, though.
We have to include these wonderful pictures of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, too!
