What should Princess Eugenie wear to Royal Ascot? Our picks

Alongside Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie often turns heads at Royal Ascot, which begins next Tuesday. We’ve put together some ideas of what the sometimes-reserved Royal might wear to the races.

Look 1:

For Princes Eugenie we have created a modern, fashion forward ensemble with sleek minimalistic lines. The Roksanda ‘Carina’ dress in sky blue has a scooped neck, a fitted waist, is sleeveless with a split pencil skirt. The skirt showcases a draped and sweeping fold under the waistline, which is pinned to the right side of the waist. A navy contrast ribbon is sewn under the draped skirt and into the bodice, creating a diamond shape, before trailing down the right hand side of the skirt in a faux sash style.

We added a white pillbox slanted beret style Sarah Cant hat with swept up bow in blue. You could dye this hat to match the dress with the base a sky blue and the bow a darker navy, though we like the hat the way it is, adding another touch of colour.

We accessorised the dress with a pair of ombré blue sapphire star earrings from She Bee set on 10kt gold hoops. We paired the look with Prada navy patent leather pointed toe stiletto pumps with an 85mm heel height, and a Mulberry navy grained leather saddle bag. This creates a classic and minimalistic style that won’t date.

We love the more confident and mature fashion choices that Eugenie has been making over the past 18 months and feel this ensemble encapsulates this sentiment.

Look 2:

The second look we have chosen, centres around a baby pink dress from Max Mara. This very simple sleeveless dress features a round neckline, a full, pleated skirt and matching patent pink belt.

This was matched with a gorgeous and unusual hat from Bundle Maclaren. Unlike most hats with a solid base, this piece features a small button base, from which a fuchsia bird’s nest twist stems. At the centre of this sit three pale pink roses. This is certainly a stand-out piece and adds drama to the simple dress.

The shoes chosen are a plexi pair from Gianvito Rossi, with praline suede pointed toe, and fuchsia patent leather heel, tying in the two colours of the outfit nicely. We paired it with a bag from Salvatore Ferragamo, featuring a gold chain strap and a bow to the front.

The earrings are an unusual pair, to stop this look from being monochromatic. These Ippolita ‘Rock’ earrings have three irregularly-shaped stones (peridot, blue topaz and pink tourmaline) and are set in 18kt gold.
