The Duchess of Cambridge and The Duchess of Sussex today attended the 10th Day of Wimbledon, watching the Men’s Singles Semi Final and the Women’s Singles Final at the All England Lawn and Croquet Club. The Duchess’ visit to Wimbledon has been much anticipated by royal fans over the past week. Meghan was also there to cheer on her friend Serena Williams. Both women complimented each other’s outfit perfectly.

The Duchess of Cambridge is no stranger to Wimbledon, having now taken over from The Queen as Royal Patron of Wimbledon. Kate chose an ivory cream dress by one of her favourite designers Jenny Packham. The Duchess dazzled in this short sleeved bespoke dress which has a fun pattern of what appear to be large black polka dots. On closer inspection, the larger dots are circles made up of many diagonal black lines, which could be likened to a tennis ball. A cute idea for a dress to a tennis match and we love this playful idea from Catherine. The sleekly tailored knee length dress has a fitted waist line with ruching at the left hip and half bow at the right side of the neckline to add a touch of femininity to the dress. We love this frock and hope to see it again in the future. We love this as a get the look.

Kate debuted a new bag: the Dolce and Gabbana ‘Sicily tote’, retailing for £1,350. This top handle grab bag is made from calf skin in Italy. It features a half flap with clasp closure and gold logo plate on the front. There is also an optional clip shoulder strap. The stand out feature of this bag is the unusually shaped leather and gold hardware top handle. A lovely elegant bag. It is always nice to see Kate carry a larger style handbag as we do not get to see this very often, as she usually opts for small clutches. Other larger notable bags the Duchess owns are by Tods, Prada, Victoria Beckham, Smythson and Mulberry. You can purchase this tote here, here and here.

Kate wore her Gianvito Rossi ‘105’ Praline-Pink Pumps, retailing for £495. These court heels, are made from suede with a pointed toe at the front and a towering 105mm heel height. These shoes worked perfectly with her new bag. You can purchase these pumps here and here.

Kate accessorised with her In2Design ‘Baroque Earrings’ in gold and white, retailing for £115; we first saw these in Sweden on her recent trip earlier this year. The pearl hangs from a gold wire hook. A baroque pearl is so-called as it is not perfectly formed into a spherical shape in the oyster, and remains what some would say is misshapen. Each baroque pearl will be slightly different in size and shape to others. Therefore, if you purchase these earrings you can not be guaranteed that they will look exactly the same as the Duchess’. Baroque pearls are also a lot more affordable than pure pearls, and possess quite a striking characteristic. Sometimes the different shaped pearl earrings or necklaces can add quite an edge to your outfit, a casual sophistication. You can purchase these earrings here. The Duchess of Sussex joined her sister-in-law for the first time in her official capacity as a member of the Royal Family at a Wimbledon match today in a Ralph Lauren ensemble.

Meghan wore the Ralph Lauren ‘Collection Apparel Striped Cotton Shirt’, retailing for £445. The relaxed fit crisp white shirt has vertical wide blue stripes with a pointed open capri collar. A button placket with mother of pearl buttons down through the centre, long sleeves with two buttoned barrel cuffs. The short cuffs and collar have horizontal banded stripes. We love the idea of this shirt, but maybe it was one size too big for Meghan. Based off her style as a celebrity, we feel Meghan probably would have worn this shirt not tucked in but tied up at the front, so the larger size would have allowed for this. As she is now a Royal, she would not be able to wear a shirt in such a manner.

A little bit of a warm day for a long sleeve dress shirt and we saw Meghan fold up the sleeves of the shirt to elbow length. Unfortunately this shirt does not have roll tabs, which means it can be harder to keep a shirts sleeves in place when rolled up. A little trick is to pre-roll before wearing (three times is normally right) and iron the roll in place. Ralph Lauren is one of the sponsors for Wimbledon, so it was a nice choice from the Duchess and she has worn this label to Wimbledon in the past. You can purchase the shirt here. Purchase an almost identical Ralph Lauren, though slightly cheaper shirt here. Get a very affordable replicate here.

Meghan wore Ralph Lauren ‘Collection Apparel Charmain Silk Wide-Leg Pant’, retailing for £1,277. These clean lined palazzo style pants in cream silk/elastane feature a concealed side zipper and hook and eye closure, instead of at the front or rear. The zip on the side helps to create a nice look for these trousers. There are no bulges or buckling at the front or rear of the pant as would be with these types of zips, so a clever choice from The Duchess of Sussex. Perhaps just a tad bit of hemming for the bottom was needed and we always love a pocket which these pants are missing. You can purchase these pants here. Meghan carried her Altuzzara ‘Ghianda’ grained Leather bag in navy, retailing for £1,205. This saddle shaped bag has front flap with gold rectangular log-etched push lock closure. The bag has an optional, adjustable, detachable shoulder strap and has a very interesting top handle of string-wrapped and braided-leather. Gold toned hardware feature over the bag at each end of the handles, the lock and gold feet on the bottom, which help to protect the bag when placed on the ground. We first saw Meghan carry this bag on an engagement with Prince Harry to Birmingham before her wedding wearing her J Crew coat. Great to see Meghan re-wearing her pieces. The navy grained leather is still not available, though you can purchase the bag in black here. Get an affordable replicate of this bag here.

Meghan carried with her a Maison Michel ‘Virginie’ straw fedora, retailing for £550. This wide brimmed ivory straw fedora has a wide black ribbon band and a circular silver pin with the designer’s ‘MM’ initials – handily, of course, also Meghan’s former initials too. The hat comes in small, medium and large sizes to help accommodate different head sizes. A great idea, so you don’t have to keep pushing your hat up if it is too big for you. Perhaps a little pricey for a straw fedora. You can purchase this hat here. Get a very affordable option here.

Meghan wore matte leather black pointed pumps. The photographs of the event do not allow us a great look at them (or the too long trousers…). However, we believe she may be wearing her Givenchy pumps, retailing for £595, that she first wore to Royal Ascot. Get a great replicate of these heels here.
Meghan did not wear any earrings, though she did have a pair of Illesteva ‘Leonard’ round-frame acetate sunglasses, retailing for £140 with her. The black framed glasses are made in France, have 100% UV protection and feature the silver ‘I’ in corners of the frame. You can purchase these glasses here, here and here.

[getty src=”998550090″ width=”594″ height=”396″ tld=”com.au”]
Meghan’s outfit in theory looks great, she looks very resort wear, off on a cruise ship. Unfortunately it is the small details that can make or break this look. Her shirt and pants were very creased and the collar not tucked properly. This might seem like nit-picking, but with a garment such as button down shirt, pressing it perfectly is very important. Her trousers were too long and needed to be tailored at the bottom as they dragged, which is a major no-no in men’s or women’s fashion. Ensuring your pants are well tailored is just so important to having your outfit look well-fitting and is the mark of the clean line. You will notice that many men do not ever have their pants tailored and it starts to bag around the ankle and shoe. Meghan’s outfit is also strikingly similar to the match umpire and lines people’s blue shirt and white pants – was this intentional, and a nod to the tournament – or just accidental?
To be honest, we are actually concerned that there is no one looking out for Meghan fashion wise, so all tiny things like this are fixed. If she had a stylist on the ground in London with her, it would probably not happen.
It was lovely to see the two Duchesses out and about today for a joint engagement we are hoping for much more of this over the coming years.
