Meghan Markle attended her first official early evening reception with Prince Harry in a powerful black ensemble from Halo. Meghan attended the Women’s Empowerment engagement for CHOGM. It comes the day after she divided opinion with her pinstripe pinafore-style dress from Altuzarra.
Meghan wore the Halo ‘Jackie O’ belted black dress, costing a more-affordable £280. This dress is in a sheath or pencil silhouette, featuring a cowl neck, seam detailing at the waist and hidden rear zip closure. The dress also has a thin black buckle leather belt to cinch the waistline. It is made from a stretch weave fabric – a blend of polyester/viscose/spandex – and is fully lined. This dress has quite a similar silhouette to Roland Mouret, a designer that both Kate and Meghan have worn in the past.

To go with the dress, Meghan chose Aquazzura ‘Milano’ 105 suede pumps, retailing for £505. These pointed-toe suede heels are a cross-between a pump and a sandal with the side heel cut-out, lending more towards a sandal than full-court heel. The stiletto heel height is 105mm. The black ankle wrap straps create a feminine feel to these heels and can be tied at the front or rear of the ankle depending on the wearers preference. These are beautiful and elegant shoes for an evening reception and we think they look stunning on Meghan.
