The Alexander McQueen ‘Single-Breasted grain de poudre wool jacket’, retails for £1245; buy it here. The jacket is tailored in Italy with slender peak lapels, draped sided panels and a centre-back vent lined with black satin. It is made from 100% virgin wool, is of mid-weight and has four decorative buttons on each cuff.

The blazer will definitely become a wardrobe staple of Meghan’s that she will be able to mix and match with many outfits over the years. If she wears it over the top of her P.A.R.O.S.H engagement dress there is already a reworked and recycled, yet new outfit.

The Alexander McQueen grain de poudre wool straight-leg pants retails for £575; get them here. They are made from grain de poudre wool in a straight-leg silhouette, sit on the waist and are slightly cropped at the ankle. The trousers contain a concealed hook, button, front zip fastening and are made from 100% wool.

This style hits Meghan’s leg at exactly the right point, just above her ankle to still give her long looking legs. The cropped and tapered leg is of great style kudos: the length prevents them from dragging on the ground, wearing and causing the wearer to trip or become tangled in high heels. It removes the need for extra tailoring to hem the pant to the right length and allows Meghan’s high heels to be shown off to full avail. The tapered fit also stops the trouser from appearing boxy which can often give more of masculine vibe (though it can also look a little unkempt).

Meghan wore ‘The Boss’ pussy-bow silk crepe de chine bodysuit from Tuxe Bodywear. It is currently selling for £285 here. The blouse is made from lustrous silk crepe de chine and has a neck tie with the option for being left casually open or tied to chic perfection. The attached seamless brief, ensured no detection under the outfit.

Adding the blouse was a touch of genius not only because it added such a soft feminine elegance to the McQueen pant suit, but because it is actually a body suit. This aides in keeping the edge of your shirt from becoming untucked and is great for movement. The blouse was the perfect way to break-up the suit.

A classic pair of black heels finished off the look; Meghan opted for the Manolo Blahnik ‘BB’ pointy toe pumps in suede. These are retailing for around £477 at Nordstrom – get yours here.

Meghan accessorised her outfit with a small black Convertible Leather Clutch from Prada which is made in textured leather, and features a front flap and a chain, that can be worn as a cross-body/shoulder bag or neatly tucked away to be carried as a clutch. The sides are also in a contrasting tone of pink.

The Prada clutch retails for around £1369; it is still available at Farfetch.

The brunette beauty is making all the right fashion moves as she navigates into her new role as a very public figure of the British Royal Family; she has really pushed some Modern into the Monarchy. What a beautiful and perfect ensemble for the occasion!
