Kate in Berlin for #RoyalVisitGermany

The Duchess of Cambridge chose cornflower blue – a nod to the flower of Germany – in Berlin today; more details on her meeting Angela Merkel and more here.

Kate’s Catherine Walker coat featured 3/4 sleeves, three large fabric buttons to the waist, and a full skirt, fuller than the original. The other difference was the notches in the lapel, also being thicker than the first collar.

Kate’s coat was an updated version of this Catherine Walker coat

Catherine wore a paler blue lace dress underneath the coat, we got just a little peek.

She paired the coat with her ‘Praline’ Gianvito Rossi heels, and a new clutch by Jimmy Choo, the ‘Vivien clam satin clutch’. Made from satin, ruched under a central diamante ball, the frame is rounded on the top edges. It cost £650 and is still available in black and nude here.

Lastly, the Duchess chose her Kiki McDonough blue topaz and diamond drop earrings, worn in Luxembourg, costing £2916. She teamed it with a new necklace, the ‘flower necklace’ from the Eden collection of the brand – also in blue topaz and diamond – costing £1400.

      1. I liked the clutch too! Unusual style, so much more interesting than the standard envelope/flap bag. V x
