Duchess of Sussex chooses Altuzzara trouser suit for WellChild awards

Tonight The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended an evening reception for the WellChild Awards in London, to award youngsters with life-limiting conditions, their families and medical staff for bravery and hard work. Harry and Meghan met and spoke with many of the children and their parents. The Duchess looked sleek in a new black trouser suit by Altuzarra.

The Duchess of Sussex wore an Altuzarra ‘Acacia Blazer’ retailing for £1,304. This sleekly tailored blazer features a notched collar, peaked shoulders, welt silt pockets across the hips and single-breast welt pocket, with single-breasted button closure. The rear of the blazer showcases exquisitely tailored panels and a slightly flared silhouette, with a vent for a feminine touch to this piece. The blazer is crafted from a triacetate/polyester blend. Meghan wore Altuzarra ‘Serge’ Trouser to match, which cost £593. The stand out feature of these trousers is the prominent arrow-shaped belt loops that take an ordinary part of garment construction and make it a beautiful showcase on the trouser. They have horizontal welt pockets sitting lower down across the bottom of the hips, a bit of an unusual place to feature a pocket, and a very subtle flair through the leg with a zip fly, plus hook-and-bar closure. The trouser is made from a triacetate/polyester blend. The trousers are also available in navy, blush and army green. You can purchase Meghan’s trousers here, here and here.

Meghan teamed her black pant suit with a Deitas ‘Coco Silk Camisole’ in shatung black retailing for £292. This is a new brand for us and and and interesting choice for Meghan. By adding a light, flowing silk top instead of a button-down shirt to the pant suit, Meghan has taken this look from business and corporate wear to a beautiful evening ensemble.

The top is made from 100% Italian raw silk. A fold-over flap at the front enhances this piece from being just a cami or undergarment and into more of a top. Thin double straps hold the top in place. This is a great piece, very versatile and easy to wear for both day and evening events and a nice change from a stiff shirt at the office. You can purchase this top here.

Meghan carried the Stella McCartney ‘Shaggy Deer Falabella’ Cross body in black, retailing for £845. The bag features Stella McCartney’s iconic gold tone chain link around the flap of the bag and as the cross body chain. Gold disc logo charms hang from the internal zip down the side, a magnetic closure and adjustable strap. The bag is made from faux leather and has almost sheen to it. A nice every day bag. The Duchess re-wore her diamond and pearl drop earrings that were a gift from The Queen; many believe were part of The Queen’s own collection. A pair of delicate feminine diamond studs with a small round pearl drop. Almost all Royal women own similar pairs.

The ‘Threadbare’ rings have a slightly textured surface and retail for £34 each; you can purchase them here. Get a very affordable replicate here, here and here.

Meghan looked beautifully turned out in her ensemble tonight. However, this is the the third black pant suit that we have seen the Duchess wear and there only seems to be subtle differences between each suit. We would love to see a beautiful evening frock for an occasion such as this.
