The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have filmed a Christmas special “A Berry Royal Christmas” with British TV Chef Mary Berry. William and Catherine helped Mary prepare some Christmas foods for those who will be working over the Christmas period, like nurses. Read more about the show here. Kate chose an elegant festive red print dress for the occasion.
The Duchess chose Alessandra Rich ‘Silk-jacquard midi dress’, retailing for £1,455. The red and white print dress has an elegant 40’s silhouette. The dress is made from a silk-jacquard patterned with polka-dots and petals, it has a high neckline with keyhole, ties at the neck and long sleeves with button cuffs. The Duchess has modified her dress by removing the keyhole and adding volume and length to the tie at the neck to create a pretty and girly bow neck. The dress has a V-shape at the bust and waist with a soft pleated midi skirt for that extra feminine styling.
The piece is part of the Alessandra Rich Dressing for Pleasure Fall 2019 Collection. You can purchase the Duchess’ dress here and here. Try this to get Kate’s look for less. Purchase here. You can also purchase the dress in a black colour-way here.
It appears that the Duchess accessorised with pearl drop earrings. There are a couple of pairs she owns that would fit the bill, including these stone and pearl drops from The Queen, and her dainty double pearl drops that we haven’t seen for a few years now.
During the special, we also the Duchess in some footage from September, when she hosted the Back to Nature Garden at RHS Wisley. She was wearing her Emilia Wickstead ‘Aurora’ midi dress. Try this dress as an alternative to Kate’s, purchase here, or a very affordable option here.
We did not get to see Kate’s heels, though perhaps during the TV Special, which airs on December 16th, we might get to see what pumps the Duchess had on. We will keep you updated!
During the show, we got to see that Catherine chose red pointed heels. They look like her Gianvito Rossi ‘105’ heels.
We loved this beautiful dress on Kate and think it is perfect for Christmas. We hope to see this dress again in the near future, perhaps with a Jane Taylor cocktail hat.
