The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Coach Core Awards this afternoon at Loughborough University. Meghan wore a navy architectural draped blouse for the occasion.
The Duchess chose an Oscar De La Renta ‘Draped Blouse’, retailing for £1,329. The blouse has a deep plunging v-neckline at the front, slightly peaked shoulders and folded, draped, tiered asymmetric panels to give the blouse a peplum style. The blouse has a hidden button closure, which you can just see in some of the photos. There are four buttons on each cuff and a thin delicate belt with rectangular buckle to cinch in the waist, accentuate the peplum flare. The blouse is made from a polyester/acetate blend and part of the design house’s autumn 2019 collection. It was available for pre-order from M’Oda ‘Operandi, though this has pre-order has now closed. You can still view the blouse here.

We are not quite sure about this style of blouse for this event. It’s not that we don’t like how it looks on Meghan, it’s just the practicality of the design for the engagement. With Meghan running around and playing some sports the asymmetrical drape at the waist could potentially get in the way or get caught up. We would love to see this top paired with a sleek pencil skirt in cream or a patterned style.
This is not the first time that Oscar De La Renta has created a v-neck belted asymmetric peplum blouse, with the look also showcased at the Fall 2013 Runway Show.
Meghan re-wore her Altuzarra ‘Serge’ black trousers, originally retailing for £549. Meghan debuted these trousers just over a week ago at the WellChild awards. The trousers have a slightly flared leg and showcase an unusually positioned welt pocket lower down across the hip at the front. You can purchase these trousers on sale here. Meghan wore a pair of pointed toe, towering spiked heel black suede stiletto pumps. A major feat to wear such high shoes whilst running around a basketball court! Unfortunately we did not get a clear look at her heels in the photos and with the length of her trousers so we can not confirm which pair of her many black pumps Meghan is wearing.

The Duchess of Sussex debuted a new pendant today. The black onyx shell design is by Pascale Monvoisin. Meghan is wearing the ‘Cauri N°2’ in 9-karat rose gold with diamond inlay. The necklace features a cauri shell pendant carved from 0.53-carats of glossy onyx inlaid with a 0.01-carat diamond and was made in France. You can purchase this pendant for £295 here, here and in white here.

The Duchess also accessorised with 2 of her Catbird NYC ‘Threadbare Rings’ in gold for the Coach Core event. You can purchase the ring here.
We loved Meghan’s sleek straight do, but unfortunately are not huge fans of the navy and black colour combination. These two colours are normally not much of a match in fashion choices. The one and only time we have seen it really work was for The Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement announcement. Fashion watchers were in awe of how Kate had pulled off her navy blue Issa dress and black heels. On this occasion however, it is just not working for us – what do you think?
