The Countess of Wessex looked radiant in Emilia Wickstead as she joined The Queen and Royal Family for the annual Trooping the Colour Parade at Buckingham Palace over the weekend. She chose to repeat a pink dress from Emilia Wickstead, with a new bespoke hat by her favourite milliner, Jane Taylor.

The Countess wore Emilia Wickstead ‘Mimi’ cloqué maxi dress, retailing for £845. The dress has a high ruffled  elasticated neckline, puff elbow length sleeves also with oversize elasticated cuffs. The dress is all one piece and does not have a fitted bodice. The dress gradually flares out to an a-line tea length and has a concealed rear zip. The very unusual feature of this dress is the large square cut out feature in the back of the dress across the shoulders. This is not a favourite element of ours and it throws the dress off a little. The dress is made from a viscose/silk/cotton/polyamide blend.

You can just see Sophie’s arm – and the ruching on the half-sleeve – next to Prince Andrew’s elbow below. We sadly don’t have many pictures; on the balcony, Sophie was hiding behind her brother-in-law The Duke of York!

Sophie has previously worn this dress to Royal Ascot 2017. Emilia Wickstead released this dress in a green colour way, while Sophie’s is a bright candy pink. We think the Countess looks stunning from the front, but the cut out feature in the back really detracts from the overall look. Unfortunately the dress is sold out, though you can still view it here.

We show The Queen’s daughter-in-law at Ascot last year for some more views of the dress.

Sophie wore a Jane Taylor hat, a bespoke piece made in a cream colour-way. It features a small oval base embroidered with cream lace applique. The hat is trimmed in blush tones with a large flower, feathers around one side of the hat and thin buntal twists. We show some similar Jane Taylor designs below.

Sophie wore Heavenly Necklaces ‘The Pearl and Diamond’ (The Famous Ones) drop earrings, retailing for £64. The earrings showcase a graduated diamond drop to a 9mm resin pearl. The total drop of the earrings is around 30mm or 3cm. These elegant and classic pearl drops are perfect for every outfit and every occasion. Pearls should be a staple item in every woman’s wardrobe. They never date and add just the right amount of sophistication and elegance to any outfit without being flashy or overdone.

The Countess has owned these pair of earrings for quite a number of years and has frequently worn them, and The Duchess of Cambridge also has a pair. You can purchase these earrings here.
