The Countess of Wessex joined The Queen and other members of the Royal Family for the Christmas Day church service at St Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas morning. Sophie looked elegant in a light grey midi coat and cranberry headpiece from Jane Taylor.

The Countess choose a beautiful coat from Suzannah. Sophie wore a bespoke version the ‘Brodie’ coat retailing for £2,450. The coat that is currently available at Suzannah is the Brodie speckle coat, constructed from a different fabric than the coat the Countess wore. Sophie has taken the silhouette of the Brodie coat and mixed it with the material from the ‘Hunter Michigan’ coat (see further below).
Sophie’s coat is constructed from lambswool in a luxurious biscuit tone. The light grey single breasted coat lends it’s styling from vintage 1940’s dress coats, featuring an oversized opened lapel, a fitted bodice, a detachable thin waist-cinching belt with rectangle buckle, long sleeves, fabric coated buttons down the centre to the knee and a rear vent.

We loved the sleek elegant a-line silhouette of this coat on the Countess in contrast to the fit and flare style Sophie normally opts for. You can purchase the Brodie coat here. You can purchase the Hunter Michigan Coat here.

Sophie wore her Emilia Wickstead ‘Dailia’ top and matching ‘Richie’ pleated skirt in a blush, pink and tan snake print. The top has a high round neckline, loose ballon style sleeves cinched at the wrist and moving into a pleated flare. The fit and flare skirt features box pleats throughout the midi length to create a very feminine style. We have seen Sophie wear the skirt quite frequently over the past year and enjoyed seeing her pair them as a matching set again for Christmas day. Try this top to get Sophie’s look, purchase here.

The Countess wore Jane Taylor ‘Velvet Small Moon Headband with Veil’, retailing for £845. The cranberry velvet headband features a feminine matching netting, which fell slightly over Sophie’s face, giving a lovely vintage styling. The headband also comes in black, dark grey, green, navy and royal blue. You can purchase the headband here. We liked seein a rich tone paired with the neutrals.

Sophie does favour larger saucer style hats, especially for the races. However, for Christmas in 2017 we also saw Sophie opt for a smaller style of headwear. We love to see the Countess mix up the style of her hat choices and feel these smaller style also frame her face beautifully.
The Countess of Wessex carried a Sophie Habsburg ‘Cleopython’ clutch in what we believe is the Amethyst colour-way in python print. The clutch matched her headband perfectly and helped tie the entire ensemble together. You can see Sophie’s clutch third along in the top row in the image below. The clutch retails for £375 and can be purchased here. Try this clutch to get Sophie’s style, purchase here.

It appears that Sophie may be wearing her Prada nude suede pointed toe pumps.
Sophie accessorised with her Amrapali diamond earrings. These earrings feature beautiful sparkling pave diamonds in concentric circles in a sphere shape hung from a sharp gold hook.
Sophie wore a similar style of coat for Christmas 2015.
A beautiful look for Sophie for her Christmas Day style, we really like the simple yet elegant style of coat. One of our favourite coat’s the Countess owns! What did you think?
