The Duchess of Cambridge has visited the Scouts Headquarters in Gilwell Park. Kate keenly interacted with the Scouts even building a den out of branches and leaves which she needed a little help to climb out of from some of the children present. The Duchess was dressed in her best country casual chic ensemble for the occasion. Read more about the visit on our sister site, here.

The Duchess wore her Barbour Defence Jacket in a dark olive green. The wax jacket is a great all-round outdoor jacket, with shoulder epaulettes, two chest and two hip pockets with press studs closures. A front zipper with circular zip pull and press studs all the way up the front to the neck for that extra closure and protection against the elements. The jacket is lined in the signature Barbour tartan with a slightly fitted silhouette which stops this jacket from looking bulky, as a lot of outdoor jackets can do. The special wax coating helps to guard against the rain and wind.
Kate has owned this piece for a number of years and it still looks brand new. This style is no longer available, but you can see the archive of it here. Try this as a great affordable alternative, purchase here.

The Duchess wore her J Crew ‘Mockneck’ Sweater. The dark rust coloured jumper has a high stand up wide ribbed collar, ribbed cuffs and ribbed hemline. The cozy knitted jumper has contouring panels from the shoulders running down each side of the body to the hem. The mockneck name comes from the fact that the standup collar looks like a roll neck or turtle neck but in fact does not fold down at all. This is a great every day piece, one of those things that you can pick up and throw on when you need to run to the shop, to help you look chic even when you don’t feel it.

Kate wore a pair of black skinny jeggings. Whilst the brand has not been formally identified we know that the Duchess usually favours Zara for these kinds of pieces. In the early days, Kate did wear Paige Denim jeans but we have not seen these for quite some time now.

Kate wore her See by Chloe ‘Leigi’ boots, a great pair of sturdy outdoor boots with high traction grip. We first saw these on the Cambridges tour of Scandinavia in 2017.
The brown suede boots have a gold eyelet lace-up front, rounded toe, brown leather label branded tab on the heel to ease getting the foot into the boot. A striated stacked heel and sole of tan, chocolate and dark brown leather finishes the boot with a modern look. These boots are currently sold out but you can get a very similar See By Chloe style of boot here.

Kate added a new pair of earrings to her outfit, ones we have never seen before and which are quite a step away from her usual style of candy coloured Kiki McDonough gems, pearls drops or dazzling diamonds. These mixed metal thick hoop earrings appear to be made of silver with four small gold segments. We are still tracking down the make of these and will update when we have more details.

A great look for Catherine today. While we all love Kate’s sleek princess swooning dresses, Kate’s dressed-down, perfectly put together casual outfits always draw much favour from the royal-watching community.
