On International Women’s Day, The Countess of Wessex opened the London Stock Exchange in a new striking red skirt and white blouse. Pictures have been limited so do forgive the repetition.
The Countess of Wessex opted for a cream double breasted coat from S Max Mara. This is the ‘Custodi’ maxi coat, and features wide notch lapels, that move around the back to a wide collar, slit pockets high on the waist, and piping detail on the seams and at the wrist. It retails for £825 and is still available here, also in black here, navy here, and camel here.
Her skirt was a new one from Valentino. Lined in silk, this wool crepe wrap skirt uses the new ‘V’ hardware from the label to close the skirt. It sits at the waist and moves into an A-line skirt. There are also slit pockets to the side. A nice versatile piece, it is available here and here, costing £980.
Sophie’s blouse is yet to be identified. It features loose half-sleeves with puckered shoulders, and a round neckline. The fabric appears to be crepe or chiffon. We will update you if we find anything out. It is another great staple piece, but it looks a little loose on Sophie, with it not sitting straight in most photos.
She teamed this with her Prada pointed heels in blush, in a 80mm heel height. They are still available here.
Sophie opted for her Sophie Habsburg ‘pochette’ clutch in snakeskin. The trapeze-shaped piece is a custom item for the Countess, but the general bag is also unavailable.
Sophie wore her Lucia Odescalchi ‘Losange’ earrings. These are large oval studs feature a thick outer rim with a central orange-brown stone, a hyaline quartz
The Countess has had these in her jewellery box for a number of years now; they are no longer available.
She also wore her gold Tiffany ‘T’ bangle.
