Lady Louise Windsor attended the Royal Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex this weekend, accompanied by her father Prince Edward, her mother Sophie Countess of Wessex and her brother James, Viscount Severn. Lady Louise looked very pretty in an all black and white ensemble by Alaïa and cocktail Jane Taylor hat.
Lady Louise wore an Azzedine Alaïa ‘Parfum Gray’ dress, retailing for around £2,600. This dress has been borrowed from her mother. The scooped neck dress, has short sleeves with a fitted bodice, the puff skirt gives a fit and flare design to the knee. The back background of the dress features varying sized white circles in horizontal bands down the length of the dress. There is a concealed zip fastening at the rear and it is made from a blend of Viscose/Polyester/Polyamide/Elastane. This dress is no longer available though you can still view it here.
Over her dress she wore an Azzedine Alaïa blanc noir bolero, another borrowed piece from the Countess. This short sleeved white bolero features a laser cut wave pattern with contrast black trim and scalloped edges. Get an affordable replicate here.
Louise wore a pair of LK Bennett ‘Clemence’ heels retailing for £185. A pair of black suede block heel court shoes that are gilded by a thin gold hardware detail at the almond shaped toe. A very sensible heel height that can be worn all day. Louise also owns these heels in a blush colour, seen at Easter. You can purchase these heels on sale here, and here. Lady Louise wore a bespoke cocktail hat by milliner Jane Taylor. This is the first time we have seen Lady Louise wear a ‘proper’ hat and not a fascinator. A black petersham disc shaped base was topped with interwoven and swept up black and white crinoline and black netting to create a very pretty and appropriate sized hat for Louise. Below we show some similar Jane Taylor designs.
Louise carried a black pattern leather rectangular flap clutch bag and accessorised with what appears to be a small disc pendant.
Over the past few months Lady Louise has continued her ensemble metamorphosis from white stocking, Mary-Jane’s and sweet headbands to following royal fashion protocols for women of the Royal Family have seen her step gradually into the royal fashion fold. We love that Lady Louise and The Countess of Wessex have made a conscience effort to introduce new wardrobe items befitting a young royal lady step by step, adding a new feature for each significant royal engagement. This way her fashion evolution is slow, paced and befitting of The Queen’s youngest granddaughter, not jarring and too over the top.
