Duchess Kate at symposium in spring green bespoke Jenny Packham

The Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a beautiful pale green bespoke Jenny Packham coat as she attended a symposium this morning at the Royal Society of Medicine in London; for more info on the visit, go to The Crown Chronicles.

The bespoke Jenny Packham coat is what we would call a mint – almost spearmint – colour. The coat features seamed front panels, side welt flap pockets, a rounded collar, three gold edged buttons on each cuff, top stitched edge and falls to the knee. The stand out feature on this coat is the small necktie that sits just under the collar tied in a trimmed bow, adding a touch of feminine elegance to this coat.

Moving into spring the colour of the coat is right on trend and Kate looks like a breath of fresh air. The Duchess is not new to wearing green, having various shades of green dresses, coats and even heels (remember St Patrick’s Day?). However, this is the first time we have seen her wear a pale green/mint colour, and it seems to have been a little divisive on social media.

Stylist Note – a welt pocket is a set in pocket with the opening cut into the garment. Some are faux welt pockets that appear to be a pocket but are stitched shut and you can not use this pocket. Some faux welt pockets can actually be picked open to have access to the pocket, others do not have the pocket attached at all.

Catherine wore a slightly paler green Jenny Packham shift dress under her coat. Identical to the blue Jenny Packham dress Kate wore with her blue and white trimmed coat that we saw when she launched the nurses campaign – you can see the same ruching at the waist.
