It was a navy colour palette for royal ladies all round today, with The Duchess of Cornwall, Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne ,The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle opting for this colour within their ensembles. Kate brought back some familiar pieces from her coat to her hat, but was carrying a new clutch.
Kate re-wore her Beulah London Chiara Coat £650 that was previously worn back in 2015 for the Afghanistan Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral when the Duchess was pregnant with Princess Charlotte. This deep v-neckline coat, features a single button closure and flared hemline. This style of coat is actually very similar to the one Sophie had on. A great replikate for Kate’s coat is The Fold Claremont navy coat on sale for £237.50 here.
It was believed at the time that Kate wore this coat that she was also wearing a matching dress from Beulah London the Seraphina dress. This may have been the dress worn again today.

Kate carried a new Jimmy Choo clutch. The ‘Celeste’ navy suede clutch bag with cube clasp. The suede clutch features a gold hard frame with gold locking clasp and a gold chain that can be hidden inside the bag so it can be carried as a clutch. This is the third Jimmy Choo Celeste clutch that we have seen Kate carrying in recent months – she also has one in burgundy and another in nude, with crystal detailing. Can we borrow one please? You can purchase Kate’s clutch here.
Kate wore her Lock and Co Tiffany Drop Brim Hat, costing £325. The hat features a rounded crown and a wide sweeping brim with a slight drop down. Around the centre of the hat is a wide matching navy petersham band that comes to a bow at the back. This is one of my favourite larger hats that Catherine owns, a very elegant structured piece. You can purchase Kate’s hat here and you can find an amazing and very affordable replikate here.
Kate wore her Rupert Sanderson ‘Malory’ heels in navy. These court shoes are slightly different shape than most of the Duchess’ other heels. A slight dome shape features over the toe, a scoop shaped side, a tan heel tip and gold sole a signature of Rupert Sanderson shoes. Unfortunately these have long sold out since Kate wore them. However, you can purchase these shoes in a lower heel height here.
Kate also wore a brooch we have not seen her wear before and pair of earrings that she wore to the Royal Foundation Forum. Both Susan from What Kate Wore and myself have been coordinating to hunt down the style of these. We believe the earrings may have belonged to The Queen as a present from her parents and be a piece from Cartier from 1945! We will keep you posted after a bit more sleuthing on these.
This outfit is Monochrome done the way it is intended, elegant, stylish and matched to perfection. Even though Kate has worn all of these items before it is great to see her mixing and matching her navy pieces.

I have this to say about the “Duchess of Cambridge” they should make a law that all women dress modest such as Kate ….. then we will have proper Ladies in the world.
Duchess of Cambridge you are a great example & model to follow

Completely agree Louise. I think Kate is a great role model for women and young girls.
Hasn’t started to have an effect in the US. So many family members at Barbara Bush’s funeral dressed to go to a cocktail party! Common sense did not prevail.
