The Countess of Wessex looked radiant in vibrant green on the first day of Royal Ascot.
Sophie’s dress was a bespoke piece from Emilia Wickstead, based on the ‘Fabia’ dress (thanks to Anna from HRH CoW blog). Made from crepe, it featured a nipped-in bodice thanks to some vertical seams, a wide-set v-neck and a mid-calf pencil skirt. The sleeves are loose, with a puffed shoulder, and 3/4 length.
She teamed this with a new straw saucer hat from Jane Taylor, her go-to milliner. The crown of the hat and the brim were created in lattice straw, turned downwards slightly. A black crin loose bow sat on top, whose ends were worked through the hat to the underside for a flare.
The Countess teamed the look with Gianvito Rossi heels, the Bari 85 in pink patent leather (sold out). Certainly a comfortable height.
I’ve sadly not been able to source any images for use on the site.
For jewellery, Sophie went for statement pieces, including a jade clover-like necklace, which perfectly matched the green of her dress, and some brown/amber oval earrings. I haven’t found any close-ups.
