Duchess of Cambridge’s nautical ensemble for King’s Cup Regatta

The Duchess of Cambridge, together with her husband Prince William, launched the King’s Cup Regatta yesterday. At first glance, Kate appeared to be wearing a completely recycled outfit, until closer inspection showed it was all new.

The Duchess returned to a favourite styling of hers, the navy and white Breton stripe fine knit jumper. The nautical-themed jumper features contrasting white ribbed crew neck, sleeve cuffs and hem and widely spaced nay horizontal stripes. Try this jumper to get the look for less, here.

This is a very chic and cosy Breton jumper will add a touch of casual class to any wardrobe. We love the sleek jumper on Kate but can’t help but think she just has one too many stripey tops now…

Kate wore L.K. Bennett ‘Parker Button Waist Trousers’, in midnight blue. Continuing the nautical theme, Catherine chose these chic tailored 7/8, wide legged navy trousers with four white buttons adorning each hip. We love the contrast navy X-stitching in the buttons which create an eye catching feature in the high waisted trousers. These 70’s inspired trousers retail for £150 but have since sold out since the Duchess wore them.

If you can purchase these trousers, we suggest you do, as this may be the last L.K. Bennett item that Kate wears that you will be able to buy. All L.K. Bennett stores in the US are now into their final sales before they go into administration. Whilst Kate may wear other LK Bennett pieces in the future, if the retailer does go into administration eBay maybe the only place to buy pieces.

Catherine carried her Emmy London ‘Natasha’ clutch in lipstick red. This bright red suede front flap clutch added an almost French touch to Kate’s nautical ensemble. Kate has owned this bag for a number of years most famously wearing it with her Gucci tweed dress. The Duchess’ bag is an older style without the contrast trim shown below. The clutch retails for £350 and purchase it here.Try this for a very affordable option here.

The Duchess of Cambridge chose a new pair of navy suede block heel court pumps. Kate wore Emmy London ‘Josie Midnight’ heels, retailing for £395. We love the sleek pointed toe on these pumps and that Kate is mixing up between a block heels and traditional stilettos more often. You can purchase these pumps here.

We are definitely in two minds about this look. Whilst Kate looks chic and freshly-styled in her updated pieces, she already owns several striped Breton tops, navy high waisted trousers with gold button detail and Jimmy Choo navy suede block heel court shoes, though these do you have a rounded toe and slimmer heel.  Was it really necessary to purchase the same items again with slight variations? We’ll let the shoes slide on this one because they are rather nice and the pointed toe is more modern and fashion-forward then the rounded toe Jimmy Choos.
