The Duchess of Cambridge arrived with the p`ageboys and bridesmaids to Prince Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding appearing to be wearing her Alexander McQueen ivory coat that we first saw on Princess Charlotte’s Christening day.
Kate wore an Alexander McQueen open neck coat. This is a bespoke piece created especially for the Duchess. There has been speculation that Kate’s coat may have been a pale yellow colour way and not the same ivory coat as the one she has worn before, first to Princess Charlotte’s christening. Indeed this was so! Catherine wore the McQueen design in what was described as ‘primrose yellow’ in the exact same pattern as the one she already owns. This would seem right as after giving birth to Prince Louis a few short weeks ago, she would need something made to fit. We have also noticed the darts are wider on this piece than the last and the collars appear to be different sizes.
The coat is very highly crafted with complex tailoring featuring darts, horizontal and vertical panels worked beautiful together to form the bodice and subtle a-line knee length skirt. The coat features an open wide collar, that lays flat across the collar bone and low peaked shoulders. Below we show a very similar style of McQueen coat to Kate’s that is currently available. This coat retails for £1,845 and you can purchase this coat here. We love this as an affordable replikate, purchase here.
The Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear a new Philip Treacy ‘OC 458’ hat; price is upon application to the milliner. When Kate was first spotted in the car on the way to the wedding we thought she may have been wearing her Gina Foster ‘Pringle’ hat, seen at Zara’s 2011 nuptials. We were most delighted and surprised to see her in a new hat. Kate has only opted for Philip Treacy on a handful of occasions, normally commissioning Jane Taylor to create her toppers for such occasions.
The very large titled sinamay disc fascinator was unusual in it’s double layer construction. The hat consisted of a larger outer disc with a smaller disc placed directly on top of this, giving around a 2cm width of brim, almost like squashing the brim and the crown into one. The design space of the hat was trimmed with pale yellow flowers interwoven with wide buntal double edged scrolls. The hat was oval in shape with rounded tapered ends and a sits at a significant tilt to the wearers face. A majestic and statement piece from the Duchess. We except to see this again in a few weeks at either Trooping the Colour or Order of the Garter. You can purchase Kate’s hat here.

Kate wore Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ 100 Pumps. A shiny patent leather nude court heel, with pointed toe and spiked heel that is 100mm high. The Romy comes in a range of colour-ways and materials including matte leather, suede and ombre glitter metallic. We are not quite sure how many nude court heels Kate now has in her closet, but it has to be over ten variations. You can purchase Kate’s heels here, here, here, and here. You can purchase the Romy in the 85 heel height here. Get a very affordable replikate of these court heels here.

They are clearly different from the other double-drop citrine Kiki earrings she has though, seen below in Northern Ireland.
Kate also wore a emerald cut citrine ring which looked the same size, cut and shape as the aquamarine ring that Meghan wore later on for the evening reception. We think Kate may be wearing this Kiki McDonough Citrine Bow Ring. We will update with more information when we know more about the piece.

Many commentators on social media have been unhappy that Kate chose to a piece that she has already worn, just made in a different colour. However, this was the perfect choice for the Duchess, as she did not upstage the bride and people were not focused on what Catherine was wearing.
