The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined TheQueen for a Sunday service at Sandringham today. Carole and Michael Middleton, plus some of the couple’s friends, were also in the group.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a new coat from Roksanda, the ‘Denton’ wool blend coat. The funnel neck coat features an asymmetric wrap, held in place with three thin bar buttons on the top half. The shoulders are slightly padded and sleeves flared, and the fabric is a mix of mottled burgundy, orange and navy tones. This piece is sold out.
A closer look at the waist, with one of those bar fastenings.
Kate paired it with her Stuart Weitzman ‘Zipkin’ boots, which are now about six – maybe seven – years old! With a platform and cone heel, the tall boots are decorated with a gold zip to the outside of the leg. The platform, heel cap and joint from foot to heel are in brown plastic. We have only seen these boots a couple of times in Kate’s fashion outings, notably at the races.
Her hat was new, the same style owned by The Countess of Wessex (camel) but in navy. It is from Hicks and Brown, their ‘Suffolk’ hat with pheasant wrap detail. Just £95 the piece is available here, here, and here. This is a good match, currently on sale.
Sophie wore hers earlier in the week, also for church with The Queen.

Catherine carried her quilted Jaeger ‘Kate’ bag. Again, this is quite an old piece, so it has long been unavailable.
One of the last times we saw the piece was during Kate’s pregnancy with Prince Louis, back in January 2018.
We saw the Duchess in her sapphire and diamond drop earrings, supposedly once Diana’s studs that she had converted.
A quick diversion to Carole Middleton, who was wearing an older Catherine Walker coat today.
Carole Middleton is wearing a repeat coat this morning! She also wore the same coat in 2012 on Christmas Day in Bucklebury.
Her daughter, the #DuchessofCambridge, was in a new coat this morning, with a new hat and repeat accessories.

We loved this new coat – rich tones and a few unusual details to set it apart from the Duchess’ other coats, but felt it was off-balance with the hat and boots. Perhaps a smaller hat, or even a headband, would have worked better, and with heels not boots? What did you think?
