The Duchess of Cambridge wore a beautiful Jenny Packham bespoke ensemble to visit the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists today.

Her outfit comprised of a impeccable tailored cobalt blue contrast trim coat and matching cobalt blue dress. A tried and tested colour for the Duchess having worn this shade of blue for numerous outfits and one that really allows her to stand out in the crowd.
The Jenny Packham double breasted bespoke coat features a vintage 60’s mod style design, with contrast white piping along the edge, collar, cuffs and two tabs. Each button is blue with white contrast piping and there and 4 buttons on each cuff. The coat is knee length, full lined in silk and it appears to be made of a linen blend. The coat is quite a nod to vintage style nurses uniforms and even the blue colour of some modern scrubs.
I love the fact that the Duchess wore her coat open, so that we could see the dress underneath. The Duchess normally exclusively wears her coats buttoned or belted in more of dress coat style. Today Kate displayed a chic pulled together full look, which is what I have been waiting to see from her for a very long time.
This coat echoes aesthetics from Goat Fashion looking very similar to the Washington Coat first worn in New York, as well as designs from Eponine London, Orla Kiely, Milly NY and Courrèges (Amal Clooney has worn a similar design to Kate’s coat in this label).
Underneath the coat, Kate wore a blue dress – also a bespoke Jenny Packham design – in a slightly different shade. The knee-length dress featured a ruched empire waist line.
Kate also wore her Jimmy Choo ‘Georgia’ navy suede pumps and carried her Stuart Weitzman ‘Muse’ clutch in navy available for £325 from Russell and Bromley.
The Duchess accessorised with her G. Collins and Sons Tanzanite Diamond Earrings and Pendant set.
This was a very interesting choice today as Jenny Packham is not very well known for making coats, rather red carpet gowns. We can’t help but think Packham may need to rethink her signature pieces as we would happily run out and purchase this coat. Of course, Catherine did opt for two dresses from the label immediately after the birth of her two children, (pale blue polka dot dress and the yellow and white floral one).
Another smashing new coat for The Duchess! Not quite sure how she is fitting them into her wardrobe?
