The Duchess of Cambridge headed to Evelina children’s hospital today, to attend an art workshop organised by another of her patronages, the National Portrait Gallery. Kate repeated a gorgeous boucle skirt suit.

Catherine chose her Dolce & Gabbana black boucle suit for the occasion. The jacket features a frayed edge, peaked lapel and flap pockets at the hip, which add an almost peplum-look to the piece. The buttons are wonderful: square halo stones, which glint black, but in some lights are more blue, in a set of three doubles. The skirt is, of course, in the same boucle fabric, in a flared a-line shape, with hem finishing mid-thigh on the Duchess.
We saw this piece last February for the Royal Foundation’s mental health and education conference.
This skirt suit from LK Bennett is probably the most affordable match we could find. Get the jacket here, and skirt here.
A closer look at those buttons, where you can see the blue tone coming through.
The Duchess wore her Gianvito Rossi ‘Piper’ heels, which have become a particular favourite in recent months. Costing £520, they feature a block 85mm heel and pointed toe. These are an excellent match from H&M.
Kate added her Mappin & Webb ‘Empress’ earrings and necklace, pieces we haven’t seen for a while. The earrings feature 0.88ct of diamonds, while the necklace is around 0.4ct. Both are still available here and here.
We didn’t see a bag today, unusually! But the Duchess had her hair in a half-up style, with curls.
What did you think of this look? We love this almost-Chanel suit look on Kate.
