The Earl and Countess of Wessex, along with their children, attended the Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on Friday. Sophie wore a beautiful maxi length dress from Alaia, though we did not get to see much of her at the wedding.

The Countess wore Alaia ‘Scalloped metallic stretch-knit’ midi dress, retailing for £2,290. This is a figure-flattering feminine dress with scalloped edging detail featured along the rounded neckline, t-shirt sleeves and skirt hemline. A fitted bodice moves into a voluminous full skirt that sweeps to mid-calf length. This gorgeous dress is made from a stretchy black tweed intertwined with silver metallic thread. There also seems to be a slight navy thread added through the Countess’ dress. A stunning dress for both day and night. Some may think it is a strange and going against tradition to wear black to a wedding. However, in this case it seemed to work perfectly and Sophie cut a refined, elegant figure as she made her way to Windsor Chapel. A stunning choice, she looked beautiful. Sophie wore a new bespoke Jane Taylor Hat. The statement piece was a black oversized wavy, titled disc percher that was trimmed with delicate and intricately pleated crinoline folds. Very similar to the Jane Taylor hat we Sophie wear to Royal Ascot with her teal Emilia Wickstead jumpsuit. We love that Sophie is not afraid to choose large statement pieces and really dress up. We know we will see a re-wear of this hat in the future. Unfortunately, most of Sophie’s Jane Taylor hats are not available to purchase online. We show some similar designs below.

Sophie carried her Sophie Habsburg ‘Pochette’ clutch in black. The trapeze shaped clutch is made from glossy black embossed snake skin and is in an envelope style with mini front flap. A favourite designer and style of Sophie’s. She owns this bag in at least three colour-ways. We saw this clutch debut a few days ago during Sophie and Edward’s whirlwind tour of the Baltic states. This clutch is currently not available to purchase.

For shoes, it was a pair of Prada navy suede pumps. The pointed toe navy suede stiletto heels were a perfect match for the dress. Sophie wore some of her higher stilettos for this occasion. This pumps are currently unavailable to purchase. Try these heels to get the look for less here.

Sophie accessorised with her Dior Mise en Dior pearl and crystal dome brooch, a blue topaz ring, a new pearl and diamond drop earrings and her Chanel watch. Unfortunately we did not get a good view of Sophie’s earrings to try and ID them for you, but we are sure she will wear them at an upcoming royal engagement. Try these earrings as a very affordable get the look. Purchase here.
This is a classic Sophie style of ensemble for royal events, a tea length dress, Jane Taylor hat, Sophie Habsburg clutch and Prada pumps. Whilst some may say that it can be boring to stick to one or two brands, it seem that Sophie has come into her fashion own over the past several years and truly understands what suits her and she is going to stay true to this look.
