Autumn Philips, wife of Peter Philips and daughter-in-law of the Princess Royal, attended the Royal Wedding in a bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress on Saturday. She attended along with many other members of the Royal Family as they walked to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Autumn wore a bespoke Emilia Wickstead coat dress in a striking and beautiful teal colour. The second royal lady to wear this colour for the wedding with Princess Beatrice also opting for a teal Roksanda dress. At first glance we thought Autumn was in Suzannah, quite a favourite choice of hers for royal events. However, on closer inspection we noticed that it was Emilia Wickstead and we have seen a similar design before on The Duchess of Cambridge when she visited Luxembourg.
Autumn’s bespoke piece features a few different structural elements of a Wickstead design. The bodice has a deep v-neck that moves into a wrap at the waist line. The fitted bodice has vertical darts under the bust line, featuring a thin notched lapel and bracelet length sleeves. A thin waistband moves into a signature Wickstead full fit and flare circle skirt to a very demure tea length. The skirt has a slit up the side to the waist band and the hem edge is curved and not straight. The outfit is elegantly pulled together with a a matching thin waist belt with rectangular buckle to cinch in the waistline. Autumn wore a Juliette Botterill ‘Rose & Feather Knot Disc’ hat retailing for £570. Autumn had her hat dyed in teal to match her dress. A scooped disc shaped percher, featuring a silk rose, buntal twisted knot inter-twinned around an arrow feather. The rear of the hat is trimmed with silk abaca bow detail and is worn upon a headband. This pretty hat was the perfect choice for Autumn that sat beautifully atop her hairstyle of soft waves that framed her face. Autumn carried an Emmy London ‘Natasha’ Clutch, retailing for £350. A rectangular flap clutch with rounded edges. The clutch is made from kid suede and is edged with contrast metallic gold calf leather piping. An optional shoulder chain strap can be used and has a gold metallic magnetic popper closure. The clutch is lined and has an interior zip pocket. A classic style from Emmy that comes in many different colour ways, or specially dyed to match a client’s outfit.
