Floral brocade dress from Erdem for Countess of Wessex in Latvia – Day 1

The Earl and Countess of Wessex have visited Latvia on the continuation of their Royal Tour. The Earl and Countess laid at a flower wreath at Freedom Monument of Latvia, looked at books in the National Library of Latvia and met with people from various charities.

The Countess wore Erderm ‘Kirsten’ floral jacquard dress, but in the Erdem ‘Kamila’ floral jacquard fabric, making it a semi-bespoke piece. Whilst essentially a shirt dress, this very feminine dress is made from a thick, embroidered pink satin. A large scale pattern of blue and purple flowers with green foliage is meticulously embroidered over the dress to ensure this is something special, almost tapestry-like, those you expect to see in a castle. The dress has a pointed folded down collar, hidden button front placket, rear back zip, three-quarter sleeves, and a tea-length skirt.

The close up images from these engagements really gave a close up look at the absolutely amazing and intricate detail of the rich embroidered fabric of this dress. Often you will hear people say that when meeting Royals, they are more beautiful in real life or their dress is more amazing in real life. From the photos today you can see that to be true of this dress, and we can only imagine what the lustrous fabric looks like in real life, it must be quite exquisite. You can purchase the sleeveless Kamila dress here, for £785.

Sophie first wore this piece to the last Christmas day service at Sandringham, in 2017.

The Countess carried a new Sophie Habsburg bag in a very shiny black embossed snakeskin, the FW17/18 pochette. She owns the same bag in beige snakeskin, that we have seen many times before. This bag is a long and slender trapeze shape with mini envelop flap at the top. Get this amazingly affordable replicate here.

The Countess wore her Lucia Odescalchi Classici Collection ‘Losange’ earrings made of hyaline quartz. These are a statement pair of earrings from Sophie in a large oval shape with pointed ends. The gold metal encases the orange gem with a row of smaller vertical gems above and below the main gem inset. Sophie has owned these earrings for a couple of year and unfortunately they are no longer available.

Sophie debuted a bold new pair of very interesting court heels from Dior, the Galbe Pump. These heels feature wide diagonal double wrap ankle straps, a rear zip and the French Fashion Houses thin tapered stiletto heel. A very striking shoe, though we feel a bit heavy for this look.
