For the second day of The Earl and Countess of Wessex’s visit to Ireland (28th September) Sophie opted for some familiar pieces. The Countess met some of Irish fashion designers and ceramicists at the Kilkenny Design Shop. She presented with two pieces of jewellery a pair of earrings and necklace by Martina Hamilton.
Sophie wore her Roland Mouret ‘Millington’ coat retailing for £2,212. The wool wrap coat has a wide notch lapel collar, long fluted sleeves and a wide gold buckle belt to cinch in the waist. The Countess wore the belt tied around her waist instead of buckled. The coat falls into a gradual flare to a midi length. The exaggerated bell sleeve of this coat is a striking detail of the coat. However, as a Royal undertaking engagements the practically of this loose sleeve may hinder handshaking and become more of a distraction than a fashionable feature. We have seen this coat worn by Sophie for the Royal Family’s Easter Service. You can now purchase the coat for half price here, or try this as a very affordable replicate of the coat here.

Sophie carried her Sophie Habsburg ‘Erzfanny’ handbag, retailing for £470. The black calfskin leather top handle handbag has a contrasting suede front flap. A thin leather strap closure shows details of a metal snake charm head and tail with tassels protruding from the snake’s mouth. The bag has an optional shoulder strap and is available in multiple colours. You can purchase this bag here.
Sophie wore Manolo Blahnik BB 115 navy satin pumps, retailing for £495. These beautiful satin pumps add a touch of regal elegance to the outfit. The 115mm or 4.5 inch high heel showcase Manolo Blahnik’s signature kick back ‘tora’ heel. You can purchase these pumps here. Try these for an affordable replicate, purchase here. You can see the shoes and their satin sheen in this photo here.
There were a few of Sophie’ items that we have previously seen worn, but are yet to be identified. A navy round scoop neck dress, a long diamond and pearl pendant and diamond earrings. The pearl pendant we have previously seen worn to Chelsea Flower show. The navy dress which we are assuming would from the Countess got to silhouette would be a wool crepe sleeveless fit and flare tea length dress may be by Emilia Wickstead or Roksanda was previously worn under the same coat to the Easter Day Church service earlier in the year. Hopefully we will bring you some fashion updates on these items.
