Yesterday saw The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate Shout UK volunteers, who offer online counselling support. Kate chose an unexpected trouser and blazer combination, putting check and block colours together. More on their visit here.

The Duchess chose a new blazer from Smythe, her ‘Two Button Blazer’ that we have seen previously. In a grey and black check with contrast black velvet collar, the jacket features two oversized hip pocket flaps set on the diagonal, with a smaller one at the waist; there are also two large buttons, a vent to the rear, and a chest pocket.

Her trousers were from Joseph. These are the ‘Zoom Viscose Cady Trousers’ in ruby (although they look deep pink to us!). The trousers feature slim fit, cropped legs, with slit pockets along the seam and a welt pocket on the back. The waistband – which sits high on the waist – features belt loops, and a crease runs down the leg. They are now sold out, costing £345.

Kate opted for her Gianvito Rossi black ‘Piper’ heels. With a pointed toe and block heel of 85mm, this is a staple piece for anyone’s wardrobe. They are available here for £520.

There was a black belt in the trousers, a thick jean style piece with a silver square buckle. We’re still on the hunt for this!
