The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Henry Fawcett children’s centre in Kennington today, and swapped her usual dress for a trouser-blouse combination appropriate for floor play time!

The Duchess chose a purple pussybow blouse from Gucci, the ‘Pussy-Bow silk-crepe blouse’, costing £790. Featuring a scarf neck that moves into a pussy-bow, the long-line blouse is made from silk. It also has loose-fit sleeves with puckered shoulders, cuffs with two self-covered buttons that sit just above the wrist, and buttons down the back (this is how the blouse is fastened). The piece is still available here, also in vibrant green here.

Catherine instead wore her pussybow longer, rather than wrapping it around for a scarf-effect.

UPDATE: the Duchess wore the piece backwards today. Note the cuffs on Kates face inwards on the front, whereas on the model they face inwards to the back.

You can see the buttons on the front here:

Kate’s trousers were from Jigsaw, the label’s ‘Sports Luxe Wide Leg Trouser’. These navy trousers (yes navy, not black!) have a sewn-in pleat to the front, with no detail at the back, welt pockets on the seams, and an exposed button fastening. They skim the floor for an on-trend look, and have belt loops, which Kate made use of.

They are past season and no longer available, but you can view them here. Try these for a good replikate here and one for petites here.

We saw these in Cyprus last year, finally getting an ID for the unidentified trousers!

There was a new pair of shoes today from Gianvito Rossi. These are the ’85 suede pumps’ in black suede and feature a pointed toe, with a block heel of 3.5 inches that tapers in to the bottom slightly. They are made from goat leather and cost £495. We think it is a little odd Kate pairing navy and black, but the navy is very dark.

We don’t have any pictures to show you, but you can follow these links to see for yourself here and here. Get a pair here or try these for a much cheaper option here.

Catherine carried her lavender Aspinal of London bag, the ‘Midi Mayfair’ in lilac shine crocodile leather. A top-handled bag (Kate hasn’t used the shoulder strap) with a distinctive curved front flap with the traditional Aspinal clasp. Inside there are two compartments, separated by a zipped pocket.

It retailed for £495, but is no longer available in this colour; brown-burgundy and black are still in stock however. You can try this for a nice replikate.

The Duchess brought back a pair of earrings we haven’t seen in almost SEVEN years today, and royal fashion watchers were delighted. Kate wore her Links of London ‘Hope Egg’ earrings, which are embedded with white topaz. These stud drop earrings are made of sterling silver in an egg motif which ‘symbolises the joy of new beginnings’. The egg is flattened to the rear.

Kate first wore these earrings for her official engagement photos by Mario Testino. They cost £325 and are – amazingly – still available here, here and here.
