This week saw The Countess of Wessex undertake a few days of engagements in Sierra Leone, focusing on women in peace-building, as well as sexual violence. More on Sophie’s visit and its important work on our sister site here.
Turning to the less-important facts of fashion, we saw many repeats from Sophie, but a couple of new pieces thrown in too. Lets us know what you think of her outfits!
On the first day in west Africa, the Countess chose a pair of white trousers and floral print blouse. We have seen this top previously, but are yet to ID it. This from Velvet, and this from & Other Stories are excellent matches however.
The Countess of Wessex recently wore this Hobbs 'Georgia' jacket for a photo to announce her vice-presidency of the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Its currently on sale for £109, plus a further 25% off with code SPRING25! —> https://t.co/H7ujlBVFCB pic.twitter.com/EMWwyd4oKh

It should be noted, we’re now not sure if this jacket is Hobbs, or another piece with a suede collar…
She teamed this with Penelope Chilvers ‘Colina’ wedges, and a new clutch from Sophie Habsburg, another ‘Cleo’ bag, this time in brown rose. This bag – which has a detachable chain strap – costs €440 and is available here. It measures 15cm x 11cm and is a nice change from the typical shapes that the Countess carries.

The Countess also wore her gold tree of life earrings, that she favours so much these days (no ID still!) and her Felt London J, L and E charms as a necklace.
At another event, visiting Parliament, Sophie changed into her gorgeous floaty Valentino skirt, featuring snowdrops, that we saw first last year when she visited Kenya.
While we haven’t officially ID’d the white blouse, we think it might be a custom piece from A Ross Girl owing to the fabric and fit of the piece. It also appeared at the same time some of the Countess’ other items from the brand did. The piece is still available, on sale for some £900, here.
She opted for brown leather shoes – we can’t quite tell if they are wedges or heels though. The toe shape reminds us distinctly of LK Bennett, and her ‘Maddox’ wedges, or their ‘Harley’ court shoes.

The Countess kept the same jewellery and bag.
That evening we saw the return of a rather memorable dress from A Ross Girl – that lime green ‘Brooke’ dress. This time, Sophie chose a fuchsia and baby blue sash belt, and her Penelope Chilvers ‘Tango’ Mary Jane heels in tan/ultra violet. We really dislike those shoes, but she tied the purple in this time.
We saw a pair of unidentified earrings from Sophie, featuring a green, blue, purple and yellow stone, as well as small pearls. We’re unsure if they are costume jewellery or not, but the clip to the back suggests they are. More when we have it…
UPDATE: Sophie first wore these earrings in February 2019, for engagements in Cumbria.
An enlarged version for you…
There are a few pairs of earrings from Forzieri that match this colourful cluster style, but nothing exactly. Shop them here.
The following day brought back two items debuted in India. It was another A Ross Girl blouse, this time in navy. This is the ‘Brooke’ blouse, and comes with a belt, but Sophie hasn’t yet used hers. Get one here, for £325.
She teamed it with a pair of vibrant red, pink and orange floral wide-leg trousers, which we haven’t tracked down.
Sophie chose her Penelope Chilvers ‘Jackie’ wedges
The Countess carried her trusty ‘Amber’ bag from Sophie Habsburg, and wore her Lucia Odescalchi earrings, the ‘Chainging Berlin’ pair.
For the final morning, we saw the return of a dusky rose blouse, also from A Ross Girl. Sophie’s is a custom version of the ‘Amanda’ blouse, which is a long sleeved blouse, with elasticated cuffs, a tie neck, and again comes belted. See below variations on the Amanda.
Sophie wore the neck tie loosely tied.
The black sheer sleeve version is currently available here for.
We saw a new skirt, again from A Ross Girl, the ‘Alex’ midi skirt. Made of silk-satin, it features a midi hem, falling into wonderful soft pleats, and a zip to the rear. It is available at half price here.
The Countess teamed this blouse with another blue skirt last time she wore it, but from Erdem.
There was a new pair of shoes – flats! – for Sophie, who rarely wears ballet pumps. We can’t think of the last time she did! These are from The Row, featuring a small heel, and finger loop at the back, with a deep toe vamp.
