Kate goes casual as she gives nursery children breakfast in lace collar jumper & new coat

Following the mini-tour of the UK last week, in which The Duchess of Cambridge had to skip a visit in London, Kate visited Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-School yesterday in casual attire. The mum of three chose a lovely new blue coat for the event. Read about the visit and what the Duchess was doing there on our sister site here.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a new jumper from Sezane, their ‘Tulio’ pointelle knit top. It has vertical knit detail and lace inserts radiating down towards the chest from the lace collar, and is made of merino wool. It costs £90 but is sold out in both the cream and the black version.

There is definitely an Edwardian vibe to this jumper, and reminds us of the some older Temperley blouses Catherine has worn.

The coat is unidentified, but features single breasted buttons that close the coat low, almost at the hips; there is also a distinct lapel, with large notch, and two button holes (one on each side). Flap pockets sit at the hips, and the shoulders are slightly peaked. The back of the coat appears plain, and the silhouette is loose and straight fitting. The colour is difficult to pin down, but it seems to sit somewhere between a peacock blue/teal.

It was a different style for Kate, who is more used to belted fit and flare coats, so this was a pleasant change – it also makes us think this is more high-street than high-end. The lining was also a gorgeous teal silk-like fabric.

Kate’s boots looked familiar, but were actually a new pair from Aquatalia for Russell & Bromley. These are the ‘Fab Dry’ ankle boots, which look very similar to the ‘Fallon’ bootie, we saw back in late 2017, with the exception of the zip. These waterproof boots have a stacked 5cm heel and elastic insert on the outside of the foot. They were designed, according to the site, in a Gaucho style. RRP was £295, but the boots were recently on offer for £145 – they are sole out but you can sign up for a stock alert here.

Try these for an affordable match.
