Countess of Wessex shows sophisticated style in pale blue Suzannah at #RoyalWedding

The Countess of Wessex walked to St. Georges Chapel in Windsor Castle for Prince Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding yesterday, accompanied by members of the Royal Family. She oozed old world feminine glamour in a bespoke Suzannah dress, choosing a pale blue as her colour palette for the day.

The Countess shone in a beautiful bespoke creation by Suzannah. The Countess’ ensemble is actually separates combined into what appears to be a tea length dress. The top is the Suzannah ‘Threadwork Bodice Top’, retailing for £895. Sophie has had her top modified with a longer elbow length sleeve. The Suzannah website states on the information of the page that clients can have the top modified with a sheer sleeve added through their bespoke service. The Countess of Wessex had the same material as the bodice added instead of a sheer sleeve and we love her version of this top, so elegant. The bodice features a high rounded neckline, with button closure at the rear of the neck. A pale blue, grey and ivory geometrical abstract art pattern features throughout. You can purchase the top without the sleeves here.

The skirt to the Countess ensemble is the Suzannah ‘Curve Midi Skirt’ retailing for £995. A beautiful pale blue circle skirt in a gorgeous tea length, made from an Italian fabric in medium weight. The skirt features a front, and back seamed panel, a wide waistband with welt pockets; the skirt is lined in silk. We adore this skirt, it is divine and tailored to perfection. The skirt sweeps to just above the ankle and this demure length is perfect for a day royal wedding. The Countess’ skirt features the wide waist band but is not worn with the added rectangular buckle belt. We really hope to see this outfit on Sophie for Royal Ascot later in the yearm or maybe Trooping the Colour. Purchase this skirt here.

Sophie wore a Jane Taylor hat. A gorgeous pale blue titled fascinator with sweeping angled peaked matching pale blue soft feathers trimmed along the circumference. The base of the fascinator is not rounded as most are, but appears to be an irregular and angular shape, coming to a peak at the front.

The fascinator was the perfect choice with her Suzannah dress. We show some simple Jane Taylor designs with the same base as Sophie’s. At this time Sophie’s hat is not available from Jane Taylor, but the website may be updated in coming days with the new design.
