Autumn Phillips attended the second day of Royal Ascot today, riding in the royal procession of carriages after The Queen, joined by her husband, and The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.
Autumn, who is Princess Anne’s daughter-in-law, rode in the royal procession last year, and in 2015, too. In 2017, she also chose a white and blue palette for her look.
Autumn opted for a dress by Beulah London, seemingly a custom piece mixing design features of these dresses. Her shirt dress has a high ruffle neck, 3/4 length sleeves with ruffle at the end, a self-tie belt with the hem falling past the knee. The print features vertical white columns with flower and leaf chains. It appears to be in a very light fabric, great for the summer weather.
Peter’s wife matched the dress with a cobalt hat with white feather trim, a piece we think is by Philip Treacy. This upright saucer style can be seen in their current SS18 collection, and the spray of trimmed feathers is also a typical design feature used by the milliner. The hat sweeps upwards, perching on the right-hand side of the head.
For accessories, Autumn opted for LK Bennett’s ‘Fern’ heels in a tan suede, called ‘biscuit’ by the label. These are a 4-inch pointed heel pump, with a pointed toe. Their colour makes them a great addition to any wardrobe, whilst steering you away from the typical cream tone of nude heels. They cost £195 and are a pair that The Duchess of Cambridge owns in trench leather. Buy them here, or try cobalt blue, olive, black, cornflower blue or navy.
Her bag was a bulky tan suede clutch, with envelope-style opening and gold hardware trim. We don’t yet have an ID on this, but it seems to be an older piece; we will update if we find it.
Autumn also wore her pearl wedding earrings; many might note the distinct similarity between these and those given to Meghan by The Queen (we saw them in Chester last week). Perhaps these were a wedding gift from The Queen, although jewellery from The Queen always seems to appear slightly later on, not straight away.
